Creedence Clearwater Revival
Green River
Released in August 1969, Green River is the third studio album by American rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR). It was their first album to reach #1 on the Billboard 200, where it remained for four weeks.
The title track reached #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. While it evokes a Southern bayou feel, John Fogerty actually wrote it about his childhood vacations at Putah Creek near Winters, California.
