Alice In Chains
Jar Of Flies
Jar of Flies is the third studio EP by the American rock band Alice in Chains, released on January 25, 1994. The acoustic-driven record was a major commercial and critical success, and is notable for being the first EP in music history to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 chart.
Following an exhaustive 1993 tour supporting their second album, Dirt, the band returned to Seattle with no set plan for recording. In need of a recording space, they briefly took up residence at London Bridge Studio. The idea for an acoustic EP came about spontaneously, allowing the band to write and record new material in a low-pressure environment.
