The Prodigy
The Fat Of The Land
The Fat of the Land is the third studio album by English electronic music group The Prodigy, released on June 30, 1997. The acclaimed record saw the group's "big beat" electronic sound explode into the mainstream, topping charts worldwide and becoming one of the best-selling electronic albums of all time.
The album fused the band's electronic dance music roots with elements of techno, breakbeat, rock, and punk, pushing the boundaries of rave culture.
Two singles released before the album, "Firestarter" and "Breathe," generated controversy due to their aggressive tone and imagery. Vocalist Keith Flint's snarling persona cemented the band's rebellious image.
By the time The Fat of the Land was released, the hype from the singles helped it become one of the most eagerly anticipated albums of the era.
