Phil Lynott
Yellow Pearl
"Yellow Pearl" is a song by Thin Lizzy frontman Phil Lynott, co-written with Midge Ure, which gained fame as the iconic theme music for the British music chart television program Top of the Pops from 1981 to 1986.
Album Inclusion: The song was originally recorded for Lynott's first solo album, Solo in Soho (1980). A remixed version later appeared on his second solo album, The Philip Lynott Album.
Collaboration: Lynott collaborated with Midge Ure (of Ultravox and Visage) on the track. The two became friends when Ure joined Thin Lizzy as a temporary member during a 1979 tour.
