The White Stripes
Elephant
Elephant is the critically acclaimed fourth studio album by the American rock duo The White Stripes, originally released on April 1, 2003. The album solidified the duo's position as leaders of the 2000s garage rock revival and is considered by many to be the band's masterpiece. It is available to purchase in several formats, including standard and special edition CD and vinyl pressings.
Elephant was intentionally recorded with antiquated equipment, including an 8-track tape machine and gear no more recent than 1963. This production style helped give the album its raw, vintage-inspired sound. It was produced by guitarist and vocalist Jack White at Toe Rag Studios in London.
