2001 is the second studio album by rapper and producer Dr. Dre, released on November 16, 1999. It was his comeback project after a seven-year hiatus following his groundbreaking debut album, The Chronic.
Building on the G-funk style of The Chronic, the album expanded the West Coast sound with more cinematic and darker production.
