Very Necessary is the fourth studio album by the American hip-hop trio Salt-N-Pepa, released on October 12, 1993. The album was a massive commercial and critical success, with major hits like "Shoop" and "Whatta Man".

The album is remembered for its message of female empowerment and sexual agency. It broke barriers for women in hip-hop. The singles "Whatta Man" (with En Vogue) and "None of Your Business" challenged sexual norms and gender roles.

Very Necessary helped solidify Salt-N-Pepa's status as hip-hop pioneers, influencing later generations of female MCs.
