On his first release with Bastard Jazz, veteran Brooklyn producer Eliot Lipp's new track "Kana" is a bright blend of guitar samples, breakbeats, and his signature Korg MS-20 synth lines, kicking back on a beach at sunset. The beat hits hard right from the start, but as the track unfolds, it settles into a more laid-back, summery feeling. Lipp's production seamlessly fuses retro synth textures with crisp, modern rhythms, creating a dynamic energy. Whether you're cruising with the windows down or vi bing at a rooftop party, "Kana" captures that effortless summer feeling. The B Side song "Silver Bass" is somehow simultaneously more organic and more digital. This one sets sail with live drums, an electric bass & guitar groove with some layered piano samples. A dueling saxophone and Moog help shape the melody, and before long everything begins to morph into a digitally sequenced version of itself. Acoustic instruments are swapped with broken synth cuts and drum machines setting this breezy electro jam out on a journey.
