Asian Dub Foundation
Rafi's Revenge
Rafi's Revenge is a 1998 studio album by the British genre-bending band Asian Dub Foundation. A breakthrough release for the group, it earned a nomination for the Mercury Music Prize that year.
The record is known for its high-energy blend of punk, electronic jungle, breakbeat, and dub with traditional Indian music. This fusion was particularly dynamic in the band's live shows around that time.
The album was created by a band with a strong anti-racist and anti-fascist political stance. The songs address social and political issues through their "auditory weaponry".
Music magazine NME called Asian Dub Foundation "the most important band in Britain" in 1997, and the album reached number 20 on the UK Albums Chart.
