Jeff Buckley
Grace
Grace is the widely acclaimed sole studio album by the American singer-songwriter Jeff Buckley, released in August 1994. Known for his ethereal vocals and poetic lyricism, the album has become an influential classic since his tragic death in 1997.
After gaining a cult following through his performances at the East Village cafe Sin-é, Jeff Buckley signed with Columbia Records in 1992. He assembled a band, including bassist Mick Grondahl and drummer Matt Johnson, and recorded Grace in Bearsville Studios in Woodstock, New York. The recording process was quick, with Buckley prioritizing finding the right musicians and aesthetic feel.
