Codefendants

This Is Crime Wave is the 2023 debut album by the band Codefendants. The group is a trio consisting of Fat Mike (of NOFX), Sam King (of Get Dead), and Ceschi Ramos.

Released: March 24, 2023, on the Fat Wreck Chords imprint Bottles To The Ground.

The creators have described their genre as "crime wave" but also "genre-fluid," blending elements of punk rock, hip-hop, and reggae with dark, vulnerable lyrics about struggle, systemic issues, and personal trauma.

The album is described as "a trip to the dark center of their lives, their words and pasts both lyrically and musically, all broken homes and broken hearts within a broken system". It was accompanied by a five-part music video series that culminates in a short film written by Fat Mike.
