Imogen Heap
I Megaphone
I Megaphone is the debut studio album by British singer-songwriter Imogen Heap, released on June 16, 1998. The album title itself is an anagram of her name.
Produced by David Kahne, Dave Stewart (of Eurythmics), and Guy Sigsworth, among others.
Heap began writing the songs for the album when she was 15 years old. The lyrics are largely confessional, addressing themes like adolescent drug use and perseverance.
Commercial Performance: The album was a commercial failure, largely due to a lack of promotion from its label, Almo Sounds, which later shut down. Despite this, it earned critical acclaim, with some critics comparing Heap's style to Tori Amos and Alanis Morissette.
