The MIDI Janitor
Holy To Dogs
Holy To Dogs is a 2024 album by The MIDI Janitor, the electronic music project of Vancouver-based artist Jonathan Orr.
The album’s title is derived from a misinterpretation of a passage from the Gospel of Thomas:
"Give not that which is holy to dogs, in case they throw it onto the dunghill."
While falling asleep, Orr mistakenly interpreted the text as referring to things specifically "holy to dogs" rather than "holy things". He envisioned a "shrine of objects not valued by the world," such as garbage, decay, and discarded digital media.
