Green Day reunited with longtime producer Rob Cavallo for the record, who also produced their landmark albums Dookie (1994) and American Idiot (2004).
The album tackles modern-day political and social issues, with frontman Billie Joe Armstrong taking a critical look at contemporary US life.
The lead single and opening track was "The American Dream Is Killing Me". Other singles include "Look Ma, No Brains!" and "Dilemma".
