Nine Inch Nails has composed the Original Motion Picture Soundtrack for the upcoming film TRON: Ares. This marks the first time the score has been released under the Nine Inch Nails band name, rather than under the names of composers Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. The album was released on September 19, 2025, ahead of the film's October 10 release date.
TRON: Ares (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) is designated as Halo 36 in the Nine Inch Nails release system and Null 22 in Reznor and Ross's film score system.
Reznor and Ross described their approach as more "industrial" and "grittier" than past TRON scores, aiming for a sound that is "precise and unpleasant at times". The score does not use orchestral material, leaning instead into the band's industrial rock and electronic roots.
