The Who Sings My Generation
The album The Who Sings My Generation was released by The Who. The American release of their debut album was put out by Decca Records on April 25, 1966.
Although the album was reportedly considered a "rush job" by the band, it has since been recognized as a landmark in rock music. It is noted for its hard sound for the era and for influencing genres like punk and hard rock.
In 2009, the Library of Congress selected the U.S. version of the album for preservation in the National Recording Registry for its "culturally, historically and aesthetically significant" value.
The Who's lineup at the time included lead vocalist Roger Daltrey, guitarist and backing vocalist Pete Townshend, bassist and backing vocalist John Entwistle, and drummer Keith Moon.
The album was produced by Shel Talmy.
