Songs From An American Movie Vol. Two: Good Time For A Bad Attitude
Released on November 21, 2000, Songs from an American Movie Vol. Two: Good Time for a Bad Attitude is the fifth studio album by the rock band Everclear. It serves as a harder-edged, more aggressive companion to the pop-oriented Vol. One: Learning How to Smile, which was released earlier that same year.
the album features a mix of alternative rock, post-grunge, and hard rock. It is described as having a "crunchy, hook-heavy" sound with "mighty muscularity" reminiscent of the band's earlier work.
Both volumes are loose concept albums inspired by frontman Art Alexakis's second divorce. While Vol. One focuses on melodic pop, Vol. Two explores angrier themes regarding the destruction of relationships.
Chart Performance: The album debuted at #66 on the Billboard charts. While it did not reach the commercial heights of its predecessor in the US, it was certified Gold in Canada in February 2001.
