Bruce Springsteen
Born In The U.S.A.
Born in the U.S.A. is Bruce Springsteen's massively successful seventh studio album, released on June 4, 1984. The blockbuster record turned him into a global superstar and features a signature heartland rock sound mixed with 1980s pop and synth influences. The album is known for both its anthemic rock tracks and its more subtle, somber explorations of American working-class life, especially in the Reagan era.
The album cover, shot by Annie Leibovitz, is instantly recognizable. It features Springsteen's backside, in blue jeans with a red baseball cap tucked into his back pocket, standing against a backdrop of the American flag. The image was designed to evoke a working-class aesthetic, though it also led to some public misinterpretations.
