Multiple albums released throughout Robert Palmer's career have been titled The Very Best of Robert Palmer, or a similar variation. A prominent version was a 1995 compilation, but other collections with similar track listings have also been released, such as the 2002 compilation At His Very Best.

Released by Capitol Records in 1995, this compilation features 16 of Palmer's hits from his time on the Island label. A 1997 reissue added "Addicted to Love '97" for a total of 17 tracks.
