Elephant is the fourth studio album by the American rock duo The White Stripes, released on April 1, 2003. Recorded in just two weeks at Toe Rag Studios in London using strictly pre-1960s analog equipment, it is widely considered the band's magnum opus and a cornerstone of the 2000s garage rock revival.
The album opens with "Seven Nation Army," featuring one of the most recognizable riffs in music history.
Critical Success: It won the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album in 2004 and was nominated for Album of the Year.
Rolling Stone ranked it as the 5th best album of the 2000s and included it on their "500 Greatest Albums of All Time" list.
