Jefferson Starship
Earth
Jefferson Starship Earth refers to the 1978 album Earth by the American rock band Jefferson Starship. It was the fourth studio album by the band and a major commercial success, reaching number 5 on the Billboard charts.
Earth was released on February 27, 1978, by Grunt Records and was the final album to feature the band's classic 1970s lineup, including Grace Slick and Marty Balin, before their departure.
The album title completed a theme, following the previous three albums which referenced the universal elements.
The cover artwork features a drawing of planet Earth with the band's name and album title printed in a Star Wars-style font.
It produced two major hit singles: "Count on Me" (No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100) and "Runaway" (No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100).
