Cupid & Psyche 85 is the second studio album by the British pop band Scritti Politti, released in the UK on June 10, 1985. It is the band's most commercially successful album, known for its blend of intelligent lyrics with sophisticated, state-of-the-art synth-pop and electro-funk production.
The album marked a significant shift for the band from their post-punk roots to a highly polished, chart-friendly sound, integrating synthesizers and R&B influences, and featuring production work by Arif Mardin (who worked with Aretha Franklin) and band members Green Gartside and David Gamson.
