Use Your Illusion II is the fourth studio album by American hard rock band Guns N' Roses, released on September 17, 1991, alongside Use Your Illusion I. It debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, selling approximately 770,000 copies in its first week.
The album represented a stylistic shift for the band, featuring more complex arrangements and influences from blues and progressive rock.
It is noted for a "darker," more political tone, exploring topics such as societal decay and personal isolation.
Highlights include the Terminator 2 track "You Could Be Mine," "Civil War," and a cover of Bob Dylan's "Knockin' on Heaven's Door".
This was the final album with rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin and features drummer Matt Sorum.
