Radiohead
Pablo Honey
Released on February 22, 1993, Pablo Honey is the debut studio album by the English rock band Radiohead. While it is often overshadowed by the band's later experimental masterpieces, it remains a defining record of the early 90s alternative rock and grunge era.
The album is most famous for the hit single "Creep", which became an anthem for "outsiders" and a staple of 90s radio.
Unlike the complex electronic and orchestral textures of their later work, Pablo Honey features a raw, guitar-driven sound influenced by the Pixies and U2.
At the time, critics sometimes dismissed them as "Nirvana-lite". Today, many fans see it as a "half-decent" first effort that contains "whiffs" of the greatness to come in songs like "Blow Out".
Members of Radiohead have been openly critical of the album, citing their own inexperience and "boring" guitar arrangements at the time.
