Kill 'Em All, the debut studio album by Metallica, was released on July 25, 1983. It is considered a pioneering album in the thrash metal genre, blending the New Wave of British Heavy Metal with the speed of hardcore punk.

Kill 'Em All was recorded in just over two weeks.

Dave Mustaine, the original lead guitarist, co-wrote four songs on the album despite being replaced by Kirk Hammett before recording.
