Tom Waits
Foreign Affairs
Foreign Affairs is the fifth studio album by American singer-songwriter Tom Waits, released on September 13, 1977, through Asylum Records. The album is notable for pushing Waits’ early jazz and beat-poetry style into a more cinematic, "noir-influenced" direction.
The album heavily features jazz arrangements, including lush orchestration with saxophones and trumpets, often described as "Chandlerian" vignettes of seedy city life.
