Columbia (CK 52475)

1x CD Album Repress

Release date: Jan 1, 1995, US

Dirt is the second studio album by the American rock band Alice in Chains, released on September 29, 1992. It is widely considered the band's magnum opus and a landmark album of the grunge movement, known for its dark, heavy sound and harrowing lyrics.

The album features a mix of grunge, alternative metal, and heavy metal, built on guitarist Jerry Cantrell's massive, downtuned riffs. Lyrically, the album is a grim concept album exploring emotionally charged topics such as depression, anger, war, death, and addiction, particularly vocalist Layne Staley's struggle with heroin.
